Suge Knight files for bankruptcy
To avoid losing control of Death Row Records, Suge Knight filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday. Knight has failed to pay a $107 million civil court judgment awarded in March to Lydia Harris, whose husband Michael claims he helped Knight launch Death Row in the early 1990s. Harris sued for a 50 percent stake in the label. "Mr. Knight doesn't have $107 million," Knight's lawyer, Laurence Strick, told the Associated Press. "It remains to be seen what becomes of Death Row." The label faced receivership Tuesday after Knight didn't show up for a Saturday court date. "He has no choice, the way these people have forced his hand," Strick told Reuters. Latest news...
