BLACK SHEEP, "Without A Doubt," Mercury
What could be more fitting than having Black Sheep as the first "Flavor of the Month"? "Without A Doubt" is the first single off Non-Fiction, Black Sheep's long-awaited follow-up to 1991's A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing. Fans of Dres and Mr. Lawnge will not be disappointed by this single, which offers two different versions of the cut, as well as a preview of two other tracks from the upcoming album. (The CD single offers a full-length version of "We Boys" featuring The Legion.) The video version (Salaam's Mix) is the better of the two, with its more relaxed, laid-back sound. The most notable difference between "Without A Doubt" and previous singles is that Mr. Lawnge gets equal time on the mic. (Even though those of you who picked up the first album already knew he could flow.) But for the most part, the formula remains the same. Now all we need is the album.
