Kanye West wins 3 Grammys
Believe it or not, De La Soul performed to open the Grammy Awards. If only they would have been allowed to fly solo. In reality, they were just a small part of a Madonna-Gorillaz collaboration, but even a small nod to hip-hop pioneers is a giant leap for the Grammys. And De La took it a step further by adding the Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals award for their appearance with the Gorillaz on "Feel Good Inc." Best Rap Album honors once again went to Kanye West, whose look for the night was a cross between Kool Moe Dee and Ricardo Tubbs. "I had no idea," West claimed as he pulled out a prominently labeled "Thank you list" during his acceptance speech. West also repeated his victories in the Best Rap Solo Performance ("Gold Digger") and Best Rap Song ("Diamonds from Sierra Leone") categories. Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group also went to last year's winner -- the Black Eyed Peas. The lone rap award with a new victor was Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, which Jay-Z and Linkin Park won for "Numb/Encore." Click here for all of the hip-hop winners
