Playoffs: Dropped best-of-five series to Grand Rapids, 3-2, losing all of final three on the road.
Scoring leaders: Derek Strong 20.0, Barry Mitchell 16.7, Mark Brisker 14.3, Reggie Fox 13.4, Harold Ellis 13.0.
Rebounding leaders: Strong 11.3, Bobby Martin 6.5, Barry Sumpter 6.4.
Assist leaders: Chris Childs 5.8, Mitchell 5.5.
Year in review: Strong led the Thunder in scoring 17 times and in rebounding 34 times en route to becoming the third CBA MVP in club history. He was called up to the NBA 42 games into the season and remains there today. ... The Thunder won 12 straight games after an 0-2 start and also won 14 of the regular season’s last 18 playing behind an erratic point guard in whom Panaggio believed. Kid named Chris Childs.
