1994-95
Record: 33-23, first in American Conference Mideast Division of a 16-team league, although two teams, Harrisburg, Pa., and Hartford, Conn., folded in midseason.
Playoffs: Lost 3-2 to the Chicago Rockers in a best-of-five opener.
Scoring leaders: Tate George 18.8, Bill Jones 17.1, Randolph Keys 16.2, Kevin Pritchard 15.8.
Rebounding leaders: Marcus Stokes 10.1, Keys 6.6, Richard Manning 5.8.
Assist leaders: Pritchard 7.6, George 6.2.
Year in review: The Thunder won six straight out of the gate and were 30-15 on Feb. 24, but closed sluggishly, losing 9 of 12, after losing Pritchard, Keys and George to NBA call-ups. ... Jones scored 33 points in the regular-season finale but was lost to an injury for the playoffs. They lost the opening series in a final game played at Rock Island High School because The Mark was not available. ... The year’s emotional high point was Don Mason Day on Feb. 25, when 8,328 fans turned out to honor the popular founding member of the Thunder front office while he gamely fought a losing battle with cancer. Mason died five weeks later.
